Associate Executive Director / Senior Staff Accountant

Organization Description:
Options for Supported Housing mission is to improve the everyday experience of people with developmental disabilities by working to change public perceptions and expand personal choice options. Options for Supported Housing provides safe, superior, community housing that improves quality of life for people with developmental disabilities.
Position Description:
The Associate Executive Director works with the Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer, and Options staff to carry out accounting and operational functions for the organization and its housing portfolio. The Senior Staff Accountant ensures that accounting is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of accounting, regulatory agencies and policies established by the Board. Responsible for the financial procedures, process, records, and statements for compliance with applicable funders, contracts, laws, and regulations.
Duties:
- Conduct accounting and financial reporting.
- Provide accounting support to the Executive Director.
- Accurately complete day to day financial accounting tasks.
- Take initiative to find solutions to problems and work independently.
- Strong financial and nonprofit operation management skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have basic PC maintenance skills.
- Comfortable taking initiative but also acting in supporting leadership role.
- Comfortable working in an organization dedicated to supporting people with developmental disabilities through direct advocacy and community engagement
Requirements & Qualifications:
Four-year degree in accounting; a minimum of 5 years experience as staff accountant or bookkeeper. Experience with grant fund accounting and reporting. Prior work experience in nonprofit management, program operations or affordable housing a plus.
