The 2022 OPRA Compensation and Benefits Survey Report is NOW AVAILABLE!
OPRA’s Compensation and Benefits Survey is a biennial survey started over a decade ago that is sent out to OPRA Members to understand the current status of the workforce supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Members of the OPRA Human Resources Committee worked with OPRA staff to review and update the survey questions every cycle to keep questions relevant. OPRA contracts with a third party to conduct, analyze and report the survey results as a safe harbor to federal anti-trust laws.
Survey Report Purpose
The purpose of the Survey is to gather and analyze aggregate data to external sources such as the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Legislatures. It also provides a reference to OPRA’s Members to use as a benchmarking guide for their compensation and other related human resource management systems.
Survey Report Completion
At the beginning of each survey year, OPRA members are sent the survey. The survey asks for information pertaining to the previous calendar year on employee compensation and turnover. For the 2022 survey, 73 Members responded, this represents 44.7% of the OPRA Membership.
As a result of conversations at the OPRA HR Committee, this year's survey was slimmed down to focus on the impact of COVID and the resulting workforce crisis. This year's survey includes data on turnover and wages and other compensation for only front-line staff. We will conduct a full-blown survey for the next survey. Frontline staff includes DSPs, supervisors, RNs and LPNs, day array specialists, transportation providers, QIDPs, and job coaches.

Survey Report Purchase
The Compensation and Benefits Survey is one of the most popular activities of OPRA. Copies of the survey report are available for purchase by OPRA Members and Non-Members. Agencies who participate in the Survey automatically receive a free copy of the results.
