Position Description:

Are you a Registered Nurse seeking experience in a nurse education role? Want to work for one of Columbus' largest nonprofits, in a unique nursing setting? Interested in helping folks with developmental disabilities? ARC Industries is looking to welcome a Registered Nurse to our team. This role is a meaningful opportunity to work with other caring people while also gaining experience with; 1) patient advocacy, 2) staff training, 3) providing traditional nursing services, and 4) acting as a liaison to medical agencies in Columbus.

Job Duties:

  • Provide staff training on and supervision during medicine administration and crises .
  • Develop educational materials about the safety and health of participants.
  • Administer first-aid, medications, and other necessary medical procedures.
  • Partner with medical agencies on training and implementing medical directives.
  • Advocate for the health of participants during meetings (as needed).
  • Help participants acquire community, county, state, or federal medical assistance.
  • Monitor the health of participants with underlying conditions •.
  • (As needed) Update medical records and provide transportation for participants.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (by The Ohio Board of Nursing).
  • Minimum of 18-months of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and vehicle insurance.

Preferred:

  • Having 1+ years of experience working with people with disabilities.

Travelinvolved:

As needed, van provided

Compensation:

Starts at $27 and increases with experience ; comprehensive benefits
