Provider Relations Specialist

The Clearwater COG provides progressive and innovative services to county boards, providers, and to people with developmental disabilities and their families in Ohio. We support 9 County Boards of Developmental Disabilities and are dedicated to fostering collaboration with our partners.

Position Description:

This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with providers of services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The position is also responsible for outreach and recruiting new providers.

Duties:

  • Developing and growing a pool of agency and independent providers of services for Clearwater COG counties.
  • Assisting providers with training and billing activities.
  • Completing provider compliance reviews as necessary and participating in the Statewide Provider Coordination Workgroup.
  • Completing mock provider compliance reviews.
  • Developing and growing specialty providers, including, but not limited to, the following areas:
    • emergency services
    • SELF waiver providers
    • and shared living
  • Consulting with and assist independent providers to help them increase their capacity.
  • Work in coordination with the Training and Development Coordinator to conduct needs assessments and develop trainings for providers on an ongoing basis.
  • Developing methods and networking resources to actively recruit new independent providers
  • Providing technical assistance to providers, including, but not limited to, the following areas:
    • documentation
    • conflict resolution
    • action step development
    • staffing issues
    • provider certification, etc.
  • Assisting providers in linking them to local and state resources for assistance, such as OPRA and OSDA.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • 2-3 years related experience, preferably working with provider agencies and/or county boards.
  • Must obtain and maintain DODD certification per DODD rules.
  • Must maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License, and maintain a status of insurability for motor vehicle insurance in accordance with Clearwater policy. Acceptable background check.


Travel:

Position is home based but regular travel is required


Compensation:

$21-$23 an hour
