Preliminary Comments on Draft NMT Rule
Earlier this week, OPRA submitted preliminary comments on draft revisions to the Non-Medical Transportation rule. These changes, sent to members of the Blueprint workgroup for pre-clearance comments, primarily incorporate the new ‘special trip-rate’ for transporting people to competitive employment in the community. While we support the initiative, we believe there are areas where the service could be strengthened, rule language clarified, and definitions could be made more flexible and person-centered. Following these preliminary comments, the rule will be sent out for clearance, with an expected implementation date of 1/1/25. Please contact Scott with questions.
