Organization Description:  

Since 1970, The Alpha Group, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit agency, has provided gainful employment, quality rehabilitation, and adult day support services to individuals with disabilities in Delaware and surrounding counties. Alpha is committed to the belief that people with disabilities have the same rights and responsibilities as all people; notably, the right to participate in their community. Services and supports that enhance and provide additional life choices to individuals should be accessible. Alpha participates in partnerships and flexible agreements to provide individualized services and support that are based on their needs, wants, and desires.

Position Description:

The Alpha Group of Delaware is currently seeking an experienced individual to join our management team as a Director of Operations. The Director of Operations will oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. This individual will report to the CEO and will work to set strategic goals to develop growth and change for the agency.

Duties:

  • Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business procedures.
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
  • Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
  • Ensure proper implementation of individual programming in accordance with the individual's ISP while following the rules established by Medicaid, Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities.
  • Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors and forecasts budgets in each division to achieve financial objectives developed by company leadership.
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions and maintain morale.
  • Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry and community.
  • Assists with performance of services related to the contracts.
  • Chair the Agency Health & Safety Committee and ensure representation on the Chamber Health and Safety committee for BWC.
  • Participate in the Special Events Committee.
  • Assist CEO and Management Team with strategic planning, business growth or expansion, policy development and customer service to produce a smooth workflow and cost-effective business processes.
  • Ensure Compliance related to the DODD, CMS, ODM and CARF accreditations.
  • Other duties as required.


Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories and policies involved in business and finance.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid Ohio Drivers License and a good driving record.
  • Must pass a BCI background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must have your own auto insurance.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must remain in compliance with all regulatory standards governing program services, including appropriate trainings.
  • Must not be a registered offender on either the ODDD Abuse and Neglect Register or the Ohio Department of Health Nurse Abuser Register.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain ODDD Adult Services Certification (Management 1).
  • Must be available by phone for facility and contract sites.
  • Must be willing to intervene and physically assist with program enrollees as necessary to care for, move, lift and restrain behaviors that may be injurious to self or others.

Occasional travel is required
