Organization Description:  

Founded in 1966 by families of children with developmental disabilities, Resident Home Association provides services to 62 residents in its seven-owned homes and six additional sites in Greater Dayton (Montgomery County). With 20 resident openings, its other services include adult day, adult respite, and transportation. Fiscally sound on an operating budget of $5.3MM, its 85-member team includes 62 full-time DSP/Home managers, seven part-time, two part-time drivers and an admin team of 14. Sixty percent of its DSPs have been with RHA for more than 10 years.

Position Description:

Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors of nine, the successful candidate will bring experienced, compassionate, and visionary leadership to build upon a strong community reputation. He or she will possess exemplary communications skills, temerity to question status quo, and temperament to bring together staff and board to energize a united strategic plan for diversifying funding sources. The individual chosen will bring first-hand understanding and appreciation of residential services and modest risk-taking for new opportunities while maneuvering and thriving in today’s labor environment.


Requirements:

Desired is executive level experience with a community provider supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, well versed in Federal and State laws and regulations in the I/DD field, Medicare, Medicaid, and Waiver Programs. Desired is an entrepreneurial vision and ability to explore and forecast revenue diversification to meet changing needs in the field. Essential traits and skills of the next ED will include a transparent, responsive, objective decision-maker, and strategic thinker. Equally important for this ED is experience as a collaborator, networker, and relationship builder. Undergraduate degree is expected, studies or certifications helpful in business, finance, management, or entrepreneurialism.
