OPRA received responses back from DODD regarding the comments we, and other stakeholders, provided on the draft Remote Supports rule. While DODD made language changes regarding the need for 'continuous supervision' and monitoring services from 'private areas' as opposed to designated rooms. While we appreciate these changes, we still have concerns over the rule drafts and the continued prohibition on remote supports being provided in the community. We will continue to discuss the proposals with members and system partners and are scheduled to meet with DODD soon to address the remaining concerns. You can read DODD's responses, as well as the updated rule drafts below.
