Authorizations for Release of Information Workshop
This workshop led by MyHIPAA Guide will cover procedures on how to handle authorizations for release of information under HIPAA privacy regulations. The workshop will cover:
Required elements of a valid authorization for release of information
Review of procedures surrounding authorizations, including revocations; expirations; and how long an organization has to respond to a received request for information
Exceptions to an authorization for release of information (i.e., psychotherapy notes)
Denials for requests for information
Authorizations for use of information by the organization (i.e., photo release; promotional use; social media use)
