OPRA's Letter to Governor DeWine

On April 6, 2020 OPRA sent a letter to Ohio's Governor DeWine, expressing the urgent need for relief for provider members. The letter, sent by OPRA's CEO/President Pete Moore urged the governor and his administration to act with urgency in submitting emergency medicaid waivers to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Appendix K and 1135 waivers have the potential to increase reimbursement to help cover hazard pay and overtime expenses, relax certain regulations and provide for retainer payments and emergency processes for providers.

The letter also outlines the dire need for personal protective equipment for DSPs and requests the state's help in securing and highlighting the need for PPE for frontline provider staff.
