Description:

  • What is the most common cause of a HIPAA violation? Inappropriate access that allows protected information to fall into the wrong hands.
  • Consider all the places where your protected information can be accessed. Get creative! Workstations, filing cabinets, electronic health records, email, laptops and mobile devices, copiers and fax machines––the list goes on. Now consider whether the information in each location has been properly secured and out of reach by unauthorized users. You may be surprised by what you discover!

To learn more about what you need to know about HIPAA-compliant security risk assessment, register for this upcoming winter training series geared specifically for the I/DD sector.

Instructors:

Diane Evans, MyHIPAAGuide
